In the quiet of winter solstice, a dream stirred in me—vivid and clear. I was holding a retreat centered on plants, healing, and community. I knew the container I was meant to create would be broader, softer in its boundaries, but just as deeply rooted in transformation.
That dream became a seed. And that seed has now blossomed into Blooming Rooted, a seasonal herbalism retreat held in the high desert of Mancos, Colorado—one that weaves plant wisdom, community, breathwork, and personal transformation into a sacred container.
As we open the doors for Autumn Equinox 2025, I wanted to share the heart of this retreat—why it came to be, what makes it different from anything else, and why I’m inviting you to join us.
Here is the episode for those who would like to listen- Blooming Rooted: A Retreat for Herbal Healing & Embodied Transformation

A Retreat Born of Sacred Timing
The first Blooming Rooted Retreat took place last summer, almost by magic. After dreaming it on the winter solstice, I began reaching out to venues on Imbolc (the midway point between winter solstice and spring equinox). Deer Hill in Mancos felt right. It was close to home, tended by community members I knew through the apothecary, and grounded in ceremony.
At first, the dates weren’t available. But then a 50/50 window opened. And sure enough, that group backed out—and the retreat was scheduled for the Summer Solstice, aligning perfectly with the cycles of nature that had first inspired it.
Everything unfolded with such clarity and synchronicity, I knew we were on the right path.
Why Blooming Rooted Exists

There’s a difference between knowledge and wisdom.
In the age of information, you can learn about almost any herb online—its actions, energetics, Latin name, chemical constituents. But that kind of learning often stays in the head. It doesn’t drop into the body.
Blooming Rooted was created to bridge that gap.
It’s a space to move from concept to embodiment. From reading about plants to being in relationship with them.
Throughout the weekend, we sip tea, walk the land, breathe with the plants, make medicine, and feel what it means to learn through direct, embodied experience. Some of the most powerful moments came from guests who arrived seeking science… and left cracked open by spirit.
The Heart of the Autumn Retreat
This year, we're gathering again—this time over the Autumn Equinox. A time of releasing, of turning inward, of beginning the descent into stillness. The plants that are calling to us at this time are different. They're rooted. Slow. Deeply restorative.
We’ll be working with:
- Adaptogens like ashwagandha and reishi to support the nervous system
- Roots such as dandelion and burdock to ground and release
-
Immune Tonics like elderberry and mushrooms to support boundaries and resilience
- Heart Openers like hawthorn to help connect to ourselves and others
What to Expect at Blooming Rooted
This is a fully immersive experience, grounded in community and co-regulation. Here's what the retreat weekend offers:
-
Botanical Breathwork with Eliza Rose Kane, working with a single plant as the
theme to open emotional and energetic pathways
- Tea Ceremony each morning with Katie Ramos, offering quiet, intentional connection to self and plant
- Plant Walk + Herb Farm Visit, meeting herbs in their growing environments
- Medicine Making Workshop, using roots, berries, and mushrooms to craft seasonal support
- Embodied Herbalism sessions that explore taste, energetics, science, and story
- Delicious meals made by my husband Aaron, using local organic ingredients and soul
- A stocked apothecary of Dancing Willow Herbs products for use throughout the weekend
- Optional lymphatic facials, cozy accommodations, and time to rest, reflect, and connect
You’ll leave not only with deeper herbal knowledge, but with a felt sense of belonging—to your body, the plants, and a circle of like-hearted beings.
Why I Canceled Spring
Originally, I planned to host both a spring and fall session this year. But when I tuned into the spring session, it felt murky, like mud. I couldn’t see it clearly. And that told me everything I needed to know. I let it go.
It felt vulnerable to pivot. I had already begun promoting the spring retreat, already had a few signups. But it was a lesson in trust, in feminine leadership, in honoring intuition over ego.
And in hindsight, it was exactly the right decision. Fall has shown up with clarity and steadiness—and I’m pouring all of myself into it.
Why Commit Now?
I know this season is full. That many people are barely keeping up with the present, let alone planning for September.
But I invite you to consider this:
What if Blooming Rooted wasn’t another “thing” to manage—what if it was the anchor?
The sacred pause you give your future self. A space that’s already waiting for you when the leaves begin to change.
When September arrives and your soul is asking for stillness, for reconnection, for medicine—you’ll have a place to land.

A Few Words from Past Participants
“The Blooming Rooted Retreat felt like the hug my soul had needed for a few years. I laughed and cried and learned and explored. There were moments of intensity as well as enough gentle space to let it all settle and ground.” —Poa
“It’s hard for me to put words to the transformation I experienced, but I can say a part of my heart center cracked open that I didn’t even know was closed.” —Lindsay
